MEET THE FOUNDER
Dr. Md. Shajahan Kabir is an educator, Social activist and a propagator of religious harmony through tolerance and respect to every other religion. He was born on 9th March, 1947 at Harirampur in Manikganj district.
He was Educated at Ananda Mohan College, Mymensingh, Graduated from Dhaka University in 1973 and later on achieved his doctoral degree from Rabindra Bharati University of India. He joined the Bangladesh Civil Service in 1977 and worked in a wide spectrum of administrative functions of the Government in different corners of the country.
Our Mision
Our goal is to create a thriving community for the elderly, irrespective of caste, belief or gender. Our non-profit organization’s motive is to provide food, shelter and clothing for the elderly people in need, while providing free medical care and physiotherapy to help them cope with their age. We aim to create awareness in the community on the rights and wellbeing of the elderly and we also encourage neighbouring villagers to be actively involved in our community.
Our Services
It takes a village to raise a child” African Proverb – Inspired by this belief wholeheartedly, Abdul Ali Shebashram is establishing an orphanage within our Old home, creating a unique intergenerational community. The presence of children will bring joy, companionship, and renewed energy to our elderly residents, while our seniors provide guidance, care, and mentorship to the young. This shared-care model, recognized globally for its social and emotional benefits, allows children to grow in a nurturing environment surrounded by parental figures, and positions us as pioneers in fostering intergenerational bonds in Bangladesh.
RETIREMENT HOME
Senior citizens, regardless of race, creed or gender, are admitted as residents of the Old Age Home on short and long term basis. Boarding and lodging facilities along with laundry, library, medical and nursing care are provided to every boarder.
MEDICAL CARE
We organise free medical check-ups for our boarders on a regular basis. We are encouraging the nearby villagers to visit our doctors as well. We also organise free physiotherapy for our residents, a service that we also made affordable for the neighbouring villagers.
ORPHANAGE
We are currently in process of opening an orphanage at Abdul Ali Shebashram. We want to give our children a safe haven where they can grow and prosper. We believe that both the children and the elderly will nurture love and affection towards each other.

“The Computer Training Center at Abdul Ali Shebashram offers free computer education to underprivileged students, mostly women.... The English Language Learning Center provides free language education to individuals seeking to learn beyond the common vernacular Bangla. The program focuses on developing practical English communication, reading, and writing skills to support academic, professional, and personal growth.

“The English Language Learning Center provides free language education to individuals seeking to learn beyond the common vernacular Bangla. The program focuses on developing practical English communication, reading, and writing skills to support academic, professional, and personal growth. Learners who successfully complete the course are awarded a certificate of completion, helping strengthen confidence and future employment opportunities.”

The old-age home is located approximately 60 kilometres north of Dhaka City, adjacent to the main road which connects Dhaka with Kishorganj. It is situated in a calm and quiet environment in Bir Uzali village. The Village falls within the Toke Union of Kapasia Upazilla of Gazipur district .
